O' Christmas Treat

What type of tree do you have for Christmas? Artificial? Real? Edible? I know, I know, you can’t actually eat your Christmas tree but you will want to eat these up really fast!

The pretty pines are so easy to make but taste like they were much harder! Its a festive way to decorate your own little tree! Best of all, they are a healthy "tree-t" so you can have more

than one!

Ingredients:

-"Mission" brand Garden Spinach Herb wrap tortillas

-Spinach and artichoke hummus

-Cherry tomatoes (chopped)

-Yellow tomatoes (chopped)

Tools:

Christmas tree cookie cutter

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Step #1

Place a tortilla on a cutting board and push your cookie cutter down and twist back and forth to loosen shape. You can make as many as your package of tortillas allows. Spray non stick spray on all the trees and place in the oven on a cookie sheet lined

with foil or a silicon baking mat.

Step #2

Bake in the oven for 10 to 13 minutes when they start to get a bit golden on top. Do not let them get too golden because they need to maintain their green color.

Step #3

Once the trees have cooled, they will harden into crackers. You will take a spoonful of your spinach and artichoke hummus and spread evenly on the entire surface of the tree.

Step#4

Wash your yellow and red tomatoes (these will be the lights on the tree), and cut them into tiny bits. You can also use red and yellow peppers if you prefer.

Decorate your tree with the chopped up tomato bits and serve at your next holiday party!

FUN FACT: The idea of lights on your Christmas tree began in Christian homes in Germany. By the early 20th Century, electric string lights replaced the candles as decorations.
